Warcraft 3 and Diablo 2 Remastered Accidently Confirmed!
With the Starcraft remastered edition being released shortly, it was only a matter of time before Blizzard’s eyes moved to it’s other classic franchises. Now it appears that a job opening at the company specifically states it’s role as remastering the Warcraft III and Diablo II installments of their respective franchises.
Compelling stories. Intense multiplayer. Endless replayability. Qualities that made StarCraft, Warcraft III, and Diablo II the titans of their day. Evolving operating systems, hardware, and online services have made them more difficult to be experienced by their loyal followers or reaching a new generation.
We’re restoring them to glory, and we need your engineering talents, your passion, and your ability to get tough jobs done.
While people love to speculate whenever a job offer in the gaming industry implies some interesting tidbits about what the company is working on behind the scenes, you really can’t get any more clearer then this job description.
In order to achieve these remasterings, the company is seeking someone with engineering talents, passion, and the ability to get “tough jobs done,” while also suggesting that the development team would have a small size. Some of the requirements are a strong knowledge of C / C++, experience with client / server architecture and debugging unfamiliar code, and a mind towards scalability and performance.
While the full details of the remastered editions of Warcraft III and Diablo II have yet to be announced in any official capacity, it can be presumed that they will have the same 4k graphics upgrade of their Starcraft counterpart.
