Four Sights in Warlords of Draenor You May Have Missed
With World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor behind us, and the fel-tinged pastures of Legion fresh for the exploration, it’s time to go back and see some spots you might have missed from Warlord’s landscape.
1.The Robin WIlliams memorial Island
As we all remember, Robin Williams tragically passed in the august of 2014, a few months before the relaase of Warlords of Draenor. To honor his memory, Blizzard created a small islet south of Nagrand, where a genie appears, surrounded by nods to his most infamous roles, such as an elephant for Jumanji, a alien space-ship of sorts for his role as Mork from Mork and Mindy. While the memorial will always remain, I recommend visiting it at least once before you leave.
2.Gorgrond Timeless isle chair
Off the northern coast of Gorgrond, there is a fire-place with four chairs. If you sit upon one of those four chairs, you will find yourself teleported from Draenor to the timeless Isle, to a small cave on the north-east side of the island by the frog bay. Interestingly enough, this fireplace is surrounded by small mounds in the shape of a heart for whatever reason. Presumably this is a reference to how the bronze dragon Kairoz used the power of the timeless isle to not only create the bubbled form of draenor we venture to , but perhaps even his method of arriving there, given how the dark portal was not constructed at that time.
3. Painter Mikkal in Shadowmoon Valley
Out of the way in shadowmoon valley, a painter named Mikkal sits over the landscape, quietly painting. If you approach him, he simply says:
Long have I toiled at my craft, stranger. There is no greater pursuit, in my opinion, than to admire and reflect upon the beauty of this world.
However if you loot his artist’s chest, he looks at you and tells you off, saying
Painter Mikkal says: Ah, traveler, did you expect more from a humble artist? A trinket perhaps? Coin, or a keepsake?
Painter Mikkal says: Just look in front of you. The true treasure is the beauty of this moment.
An intresting prod by the developers about paying attention to the beauty of Draenor, not just it’s savage nature.
4. Felsworn Deserter
Near the entrance to Tanaan jungle, a dead iron horde orc can be found lying dead with a chest of stolen loot, and a single message clutched in his hand. Upon reading, the message reads :
“Dear Ma, I’ve decided to leave da Iron Horde army.
Not enough grub, and I miss your cooking.
Love, Your Son.”
Even with Gul`dan corruption infecting almost all of the remaining Iron horde, it’s still worth remembering that not every orc fights out of hatred, but simply because their world is at war.
And there we go, four unique locations that you may have missed whilst traversing dreanor. Got any cool spots in the Broken isles that you don’t think anyone has really seen? tweet @Neoshadowzac your top locations, and maybe they`ll be in their own video, next time.
