Atlas Reactor Comments on this video:
“Great breakdown and quite entertaining :D I’d like to just call out why Free Mode isn’t a trial or a demo. There is no limitation on time played, so it isn’t a trial. Your progress sticks around forever, and you can play with paying players, so it isn’t exactly a demo. Free Mode is just as unique as the gameplay we’re bringing to the industry. Just because we use the word “Free” doesn’t mean it automatically falls under the F2P umbrella, as that has gained a very specific definition. Similarly people argue that Atlas Reactor isn’t a MOBA, or is one. By it’s base meaning, it is, and by it’s base meaning Atlas Reactor Free Mode is also free (including free of any microtransaction). However MOBA has become associated with very specific traits, as has F2P. So the argument is based in semantics and choosing to understand something one way or the other. We have explained what Free Mode is, players just need to start seeing where it deviates from their preconceived notions of the term “Free” in the video game industry. We’re letting people play a retail product for free…. forever.”
